This was the second year the Sleep Out event took place in the North East of England and according to the Centrepoint local organiser, Lindsay Peach the event continues to be a success. “Honestly, we did not expect so many people” she stated “it’s Thursday and people have to work tomorrow and it’s freezing in here”. But the cold was easily forgotten with the live shows of some local bands from across the North East, such as The Lake Poets, Pretty Livid Imps and The Karma Heart.
“I'm hoping we can reach £10,000 tonight in Beamish" Ms. Peach declared, "the funds obtained will be entirely assigned to help young people in vulnerable situations as we have been doing these past years."
The event carried out by the leading British charity took place in several different locations around the United Kingdom, including London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Manchester and raised over £350,000 for the charity with over one thousand people taking part!
